NIH Clinical Trials: 15 Minute Overview

Date 01/16/18 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Location The Living Center (110 Henderson Bldg.) and online via Zoom

What NIH’s Definition Means for Researchers in the Health, Life, and Social/Behavioral Sciences

Hosted by CTSI, SSRI, and the Office for Research Protections The Office for Research Protections will present a 15-minute overview on NIH’s definition of a clinical trial, which affects all NIH-funded researchers conducting human subjects re-search. The new definition is broader than the usual understanding of a clinical trial, and all researchers must know whether their work is a clinical trial for funding purposes. This quick overview is intended to help research teams understand the definition and will point them to additional resources. Following the brief overview will be a 30-minute Q&A. We encourage researchers to bring their proposals with them. Faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students are welcome and encouraged to attend. This overview will be presented in person and online.
