The Results First Clearinghouse Database at Penn State’s Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative (EIC) recently grew to include more than 4,600 evidence-based resources and programs following the integration of the Continuum of Evidence developed and hosted by the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State.
The Continuum of Evidence is a repository of over 1,400 evidence-based resources and programs for both military-connected and civilian families, addressing a variety of issues such as healthy parenting, financial literacy, nutrition and physical activity, and mental health.
The Results First Clearinghouse Database at the EIC is also a comprehensive database of research on effective social programs. By integrating these two sources of information, the expanded Results First Clearinghouse Database now provides an even more extensive and powerful collection of evidence-based programs and resources for a variety of applications.
The integration also facilitates the identification and dissemination of effective programs and practices for military Service members, veterans, and their families. By joining forces with the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State, the EIC will be well positioned to both identify and evaluate programs that are most effective for military-connected families, ensuring that the needs of military Service members, veterans, and their families are met.
In addition, the integration of the two databases will improve the accessibility and dissemination of resources for both military and civilian families. By centralizing the resources and programs for military families in one searchable location, the integration could make it easier for service providers and military families to identify, access, and use evidence-based resources and programs.

The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness is an applied research center committed to advancing the health and well-being of Service members, veterans, and their families. The Clearinghouse takes a solution-oriented approach that includes conducting applied research studies, building workforce expertise through training and resource provision, implementing, and evaluating evidence-informed programs and practices, and delivering objective data and policy-relevant findings so that decisions are based on the best science and evidence available. The Clearinghouse is located within Penn State’s Social Science Research Institute (SSRI).
The EIC is a research center and core resource for the science of scientific impact — aiming to improve the relevance, value, and use of research evidence to increase societal well-being. The EIC leverages expertise in administrative data, program design and evaluation, and researcher-policymaker relationships to optimize public and private investments. The EIC is also a unit of SSRI and supported by the College of Health and Human Development.
