Center for Socially Responsible Artificial Intelligence Diagnose-a-thon

The Center for Socially Responsible Artificial Intelligence will host its first-ever “Diagnose-a-thon,” an asynchronous virtual event that challenges participants to explore the ways Generative AI can help or harm when it's used to answer medical questions. What: Win up to $1,000 by prompting large language models with health-related queries that produce helpful or harmful outputs.
When: Submit prompts anytime from Monday, November 11, to Sunday, November 17.
Where: Diagnoses can be submitted virtually via a Microsoft Form.
Who: Anyone with a valid @psu.edu email can participate. No technological expertise is needed.
Why: Test how well Generative AI tools can handle health-related information and advise people who might use these tools for questions about their personal health.

A panel of physicians will scrutinize each submission, with prizes ranging from $50 to $1,000. Participants can submit as many diagnoses as they’d like to increase their chances of winning!
