Description

Registration is now open for the 2026 Open Scholarship Bootcamp, Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the University Park campus.

This immersive 2-day event is open to all Penn State faculty, staff, and students. It offers a hands-on introduction to practices that can enhance scholarly transparency, rigor, and impact.

The Bootcamp will cover:

- What open scholarship is and why it matters

- Ethical and practical considerations of openness

- Open scholarship and AI

- Tools and workflows for reproducible research (including R, R Markdown, Quarto, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks)

- How to manage data and get credit for sharing data and materials

Enjoy continental breakfasts and light lunches (with vegan and vegetarian options), connect with colleagues, and develop practical skills to bring openness to your research.

The Bootcamp is sponsored by the Child Study Center, the University Libraries, the Institute for Computational and Data Science, the Social Sciences Research Institute, the Department of Psychology, and the Department of Statistics.

Please note: Space is limited, and registration is a commitment to attend all sessions of the Bootcamp.
