Survey of Income and Program Participation Workshop

We am pleased to announce that, in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau, we will offer a training workshop in the use of the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) on May 7-9. The SIPP collects data and measures change for many topics including: economic well-being, family dynamics, education, assets, health insurance, childcare, and food security. It is unique because it is a longitudinal survey that has monthly information on respondents over about a four year period. There have been many of such SIPP panels from the 1980s to the present. For more information, see: https://www.census.gov/sipp/. Census Bureau staff (including program alumni) will come to Penn State and provide guidance on how to use this rich, complex source of data. Restricted-use versions of the data could also be accessed in the RDC environment.

Please follow the link below by Thursday, April 19 to register for the workshop (the workshop is free). Participants are not required to attend every session of the workshop. We will send a more detailed agenda as the date of the workshop approaches.
