Title: "Housing Policy and Substance Use Disorder Treatment”
Bio: Matthew Eisenberg, PhD, is a health economist and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with joint appointments in Mental Health and at the Carey Business School. At Johns Hopkins, he serves as Vice Chair for Research and Practice in Health Policy and Management, Director of the PhD Program in Health Economics, and Director of the Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy. He earned his BS in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University and his PhD in Public Policy and Management, with a focus on health economics, from Carnegie Mellon University. His research examines how federal, insurer, and employer health care policies affect mental health and substance use disorder treatment, using applied econometric methods and administrative data. He has published 80 peer-reviewed papers in leading economics, medical, and policy journals, and he is principal investigator on multiple NIH funded R01 grants and a T32 training grant. His work is regularly cited in federal and state policy reports, and he consults with policymakers on health care policy. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Health Economists and has received multiple teaching awards at Johns Hopkins. |
