Penn State researchers provide informed commentary on the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on food insecurity rates in Pennsylvania. According to the researchers, due to the rise of the unemployment rate during COVID-19, food insecurity rates have risen from 11 percent to over 33 percent. Maintaining access to healthy, affordable food will be crucial to our recovery from the pandemic and its economic fallout.
