The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) has opened applications for its 2026–2027 Mid-Career Research–Practice Partnership Fellows Program, a new initiative designed to strengthen collaborative research that drives real-world impact.
Supported in part by a William T. Grant Institutional Challenge Grant, the fellowship aims to deepen the research-practice partnership between Penn State’s Child Maltreatment Solutions Network and the Pennsylvania Office of Children, Youth, and Families (OCYF).
The program invites mid-career researchers who hold a terminal degree received within the past 8–20 years and have a faculty or research appointment at Penn State. Fellows will receive financial support for up to 50 % full-time equivalent effort for 12–24 months to engage in collaborative, applied research focused on improving postsecondary outcomes for transition-age youth in foster care. Participants are expected to contribute specialized expertise, enhance cross-sector collaboration, and help produce actionable research that informs policy and practice within OCYF and beyond.
The fellowship offers a unique opportunity for experienced scholars to advance their careers while fostering evidence-based solutions to pressing social challenges. Please apply here.
