The Social Science Research Institute at Penn State has announced a funding program to help support social science faculty conducting research with data from Penn State's Federal Statistical Research Data Center.

The Federal Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC) supplemental funding call provides assistance to Penn State researchers for costs and fees associated with the use of Penn State's Census Research Data Center. FSRDC Supplement proposals will be funded up to $5,000 and can be submitted at any time during the year. All funding received from this program must be for the use of Penn State’s FSRDC.

SSRI prioritizes topics that align with the Institute’s Strategic Foci including causes and consequences of inequality, human development and behavior, social and environmental determinants of health, innovative and data intensive research methods, and individual and community impact.

The SSRI provides financial support to increase the quantity and quality of interdisciplinary research by Penn State faculty members. Our proposal review process includes evaluation and development to support faculty initiate research projects that can attract external funding. Our faculty’s success at winning external funding provides the resource foundation for a sustainable pilot grant program. For more information contact SSRI at ssri-seed-grant@psu.edu.
