• Natasha Warikoo, Professor of Sociology at Tufts University and conducts fascinating research at the intersection of education, race, immigration, and culture. Her books include Balancing Acts: Youth Culture in a Global City, The Diversity Bargain: And Other Dilemmas of Race, Admission, and Meritocracy at Elite Universities, Is Affirmative Action Fair?, and, most recently Race at the Top: Asian Americans and Whites in Pursuit of the American Dream in Suburban Schools. Before her 2pm talk “Meritocracy in Educational Organizations,” she will join us for lunch and an informal Q&A about her broader body of work, conducting research in schools, and anything else you are interested in discussing.
