Published on: Dec 13, 2019

Paul Morgan, director of the Center for Educational Disparities Research and PRI affiliate, and his research team's finding on disparities in disability identification are repeatedly cited in Vibrant and Healthy Kids, the new National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine report on using science and policy to advance health equity in the U.S.

The report is by the Committee on Applying Neurobiological and Socio-behavioral Sciences from Prenatal Through Early Childhood Development: A Health Equity Approach, Population Health and Public Health Practice, Health and Medicine Division. The report both cites and details the team's findings including evidence of the effectiveness of special education services in the U.S. as well as evidence of racial/ethnic disparities in disability identification.
